    Description
WE ARE VERY SORRY TO HAVE TO INFORM YOU THAT YE OLDE DUN COW IN COWBIT IS NOW CLOSED.

Having purchased the Public House in 2004, Dick & Fiona Morgan have created a destination Public House / Restaurant, serving both good real ales and excellant food.
As far as possible all the ingredients are sourced locally, including Lincoln Red Beef, and all meals are cooked to order.
On offer are a lunchtime snack menu and an 'early doors' grill menu (both served in the bar areas), together with a comprehensive main restaurant menu.
Ye Olde Dun Cow is known both locally and much further afield for being able to cater for both an intimate meal for two to a large party.
The main menu changes on a regular basis and has at times been known to offer some exotic meats such as Buffalo, Crocodile and Kudo.
There is a wealth of local memorabilia on the walls which has been collected over the years including photographs of the old ice skating championships on the wash opposite. For further information go to www.yeoldeduncow.com

hi me and some friends came there last night for a meal the surroundings were nice and the staff very polite but the food was so expensive and when it came we were all disgusted the chef had tried to make the food look like something suitable a 3yr old we thought we was playing jenga with the toast,i had the steak and kidney pie the barmaid said good choice thats fresh it was only made three days ago she was not joking i would have needed a kango hammer to chew the steak the only good thing about our evening there was the drink and the company needless to say we wont be coming again

Having tried this pub before and been pleasantly surprised by the consistent quality (we took 24 people) we decided to hold our daughter’s wedding lunch with Dick and Fiona, absolutely outstanding service, we had discussed the timings allowing for speeches etc, everything went exactly according to plan, the food was of an exceptionally high standard, no request a problem, all advance meetings with Dick and Fiona met with a helpful smile reproduced by their very helpful staff on the day. Many thanks again to all at the Dun Cow Cowbit.

For a pleasant evening in good company the DunCow is the place to be. The beer & food is always good. The staff are helpful and nothing is to much trouble. A great crowd on a Friday night. The landlord and his wife are always trying to help local charities and looking at ways to raise funds. I would recommend this pub as a good night out any night.

If you think that the country pub with fresh, homemade good food are gone forever, your wrong. This is a place to go. I took my wife and two kids for a meal whilst visiting the area and was blown away with the great choice of quality, freshly prepared, homemade food served by the friendly and helpful staff. Must recommend the chips as a side order at least, not your packet chips, but homemade thick cut chips. A liitle higher in price than some places but well worth it from the starter to desert. As long as they dont change anything this place will become Lincolnshires best place to eat & drink.

What a brilliant place, a lovely Pub over 100 years old. Bags of Olde Worlde charm in the bar area, which has a good range of bar snacks available. We, however, wanted a meal, so we ate in the restaurant area which is a newer addition, beautifully decorated - lovely table settings - the pictures on the walls show the history of this old fenland Pub - very interesting. The menu was really varied and we can recommend the Chicken on Ham and Mushrooms with Stilton sauce and fresh mixed vegetables, not to mention the Thai Chicken Curry with timbali of rice, side salad and puppodums - not a chip in sight ! All perfectly cooked and totally mouthwatering! The Landlord/Chef and his wife were such nice people too, very friendly and attentive; nothing was too much trouble. We all felt very comfortable there and would recommend this lovely clean Pub to anyone. If you haven't been there yet, make it your next port of call ! We'll definitely be going back for 'seconds'. !
