The New Inn is a charming pub serving food on Ham Common. There is a daily specials board and a standard menu although at times the menu is somewhat limited in choice. No children's menu or portions. Both the drinks and food prices are high for a pub and therefore not wonderful value but on the other side the portions are generous. We could not fault the service. The seating is not plush but adequate except for the conservatory areahich is more spacious and comfortable. we suggest you try and get a table in this area if you are eating. No loud music or sky television which for us is a real bonus as you can hold a conversation withoiut having to shouit. Overall the New Inn is recommende,.

The New Inn is on the eastern side of the picturesque Ham Common. It is a traditional well maintain pub which has retained its original character. The food is ordered at the bar and delivery to your table usually within 15 minutes. There is the standard printed everyday menu which is hardly exciting and I would suggest some of the food had been microwaved. however the special board is another matter with some very interesting dishes on it. The food from the Special menu tastes very fresh. For pub food it is overpriced and whether it is good value may be a matter of opinion. There is good selection of beer and wines but again they are priced slightly over the odds. The staff and friendly and helpful and the ambiance of the pub is good. Customer tend to be in the "Middle Age" group and thankfully on our many visits it has been devoid of larger louts and the young and lively brigade. It certainly worth a visit and the only slight negative is the price of food and drink which is a bit steep but not exorbitant. Recommended.
