    Description
A glorious 16th Century country pub in a fantastic setting, overlooking the crystal waters of Lake Grundal. We serve only meals prepared with the finest local produce and all cooked to order. The kids can enjoy a choice from a healthy menu, on which Chicken Nuggets and Chips don't even feature (although kids - if you whisper quietly to Jan behind the bar, she's sure to pull some out of a hat for you ;o) )

Our focus is on atmosphere, traditional fayre, and value for money. Whilst maintaining our quiet rural retreat status, we still manage to provide the high number of facilities that our guests demand and deserve. For instance, being in a backwater, we give free drinks for DES (designated driver), so as to help encourage safer journeys to and from The Ragtime Blues, for everyone. We also offer a Wi-Fi connection, free of charge, to support local business lunches.
    Directions

We stumbled across this pub by chance whilst out for a walk. It was mid lunch time and very busy. The food was amazingly tasty and cooked to perfection. Service was a little slow due to how busy it was, perhaps they need an extra pair of hands during the peak times but all in all this is an excellent pub

Excellent atmosphere, you really feel at home as soon as you walk through the door! Malc's big smiling face and booming voice certainly remind you of Santa! The food was out of this world. Although the gravy was a little too rich for my liking, who could resist those salty roasted potatoes, tender beef doorsteps and caramelised onions? And the Yorkshire Pudding? Second only to my mum's!
